The truth is, installing ANYTHING into a vehicle that was not originally equipped with them from the factory is technically illegal. This includes aftermarket exhaust, headers, and all types of modifications that the D.O.T did not test (and get paid) for. However, we are selling these kits for OFF Road, race and exhibition use only. SportBike Lites by no means encourage breaking the law, please use safely. There have been little to no verified accounts of anyone getting pulled over and cited just for having them on. SportBike Lites recommends that you make sure that you have the appropriate headlight assembly for your vehicle and that your headlights are properly aligned after installation. If you are again not comfortable please take it in to a professional.

Yes, the halogens run at 55W, and the HID lights run at 35W. The HID's only need more power temporarily during start up.

When installed correctly SportBike Lites HID Xenon kits are designed to last 10X longer than halogen lights at around 3500 hours.

At night visibility is significantly reduced weather you are a good driver or not. Even the best drivers can only react and avoid what they see. SportBike Lites HID Xenon lights increase the field of vision, both down the road and to the sides of the road and thus create a much improved driving experience for everyone. Even if you are a good driver seeing more of the road and the dangers that go along with it ( cliffs, hills, dirt on a turn, other cars etc,) never is a bad idea. Installation FAQ's

Yes, our SportBike Lites HID Xenon conversion kit is 100% reversible. Our SportBike Lites HID Xenon conversion kit is a direct factory replacement that does not require any cutting splicing or major modification to the stock vehicle. It is 100% reversible and can be put back to stock by simply removing the SportBike Lites HID Xenon bulbs and ballasts and replacing it with the stock halogen bulbs.

Get some pliers and crack it, it is on there for bulb protection. The base of the bulb is what is used for the housing. Be sure NOT to touch the bulb with your fingers.

There is multiple ways to go about this. The ballasts can be mounted anywhere within a foot of the headlight and the wires and be held down with zip ties.

Are modifications necessary when installing SportBike Lites HID lights?

There is very minor modification. If the install directions that we will show online are followed properly, the installation process will be mostly plug and play and only take 20-30 minutes of your time.

Can I install the kit myself?

If you have basic technical skills and can remember how you took something apart you should be able to install this yourself. If you can remove your stock halogen bulb and a faring you are good to go. Our kit is a full plug and play application that is a direct factory replacement. We have done all of the research and design to make this kit very simple to install. The only real "challenge" is finding a good place to mount the SportBike Lites slim digital ballast. You can mount it inside of a fairing. If you are no good with mechanics or do not feel confident doing it, please take it somewhere and have a licensed professional install it. When you install it right, you will see what all the hype is about and you will never ride without SportBike Lites HID's again. Ride safe.

You have to drill a 1 inch hole in the cap, run the connectors out through it, & the sealed rubber grommet snaps into place, sealing the headlight. This is where some additional silicone may be added as a precautionary measure. Then screw the cap back on as normal.

We recommend adding silicone as a precautionary measure, however it is not necessary.

Troubleshooting

The first thing you check is the wiring, make sure that everything is still plugged in. If installing for the first time, check the power and ground wire because some vehicles have a reversed power and ground connection. You can check this by switching the power and the ground wire (coming from the ballast) that plugs into the stock wiring harness. If that does nothing, one of the head light bulbs or ballast might have malfunctioned. Bulbs have a limited life that depends on the number of hours of use, and how much vibration they have been subjected to over time. The more nighttime driving you do, the sooner one or both headlights will fail. A typical automotive incandescent headlamp (halogen or regular) has a service life that may range from 600 to as much as 2000 hours of use.

The best way to make test to see if the bulb has gone bad is to replace the bad bulb with the working bulb on the opposite side. If the bulb comes on you need to replace the bad bulb. If that does not ignite the bulb then you need to test the ballast.

The Fix: Replace the burned out bulb, or ballast.
